Give or get?

Before you read this post, just a clarification: All the points mentioned here are my own viewpoints, so don't get offended by them; just try to get the message in this post.

It's very easy to follow the path most of others are following. Go to school, study hard, get good grades, then go to some university, again study hard, get good grades, get a job, get a fixed salary, which may or may not satisfy your need: That is the trail most of the people follow. Rich or poor, everyone looks to work, FOR money. These people are called employees(for the rich) or laborers(for poor). I know some of persons, who get Rs 1 lac or more per month as their salary, undoubtedly a good amount, but compensating this amount, their employer buys their whole time. They don't have time even for eating well, or even to relax. One of my friends was supposed to get married on a date, but he didn't get leave, even for a day. Most of employees get 1-2 days per week as holidays, but they are so exhausted, that they spend their weekends sleeping, and they do not get the strength even to go to market, or socialize with their friends. Govt employees are little better, but they too work for money, and the govt, than themselves.
Most people want to GET good school/college, GET good grades, GET a good job, GET good salary, and GET a respectable life. Yes, hard working people are most of times appreciated, who get good salary and a good post. If you say that your son is a software engineer, or a manager, or a doctor, you don't need to say another word, and respect comes automatically. But, if you say, he is a businessman, or investor, some more questions arise, like monthly income, or cashflow, or nature of business, future aspects, etc...
Due to less complexity involved in following this simple trail, most of the people follow it. But if you take a look around the world, at the list of world most famous and richest entrepreneurs, you will notice that they might have not finished their schools/colleges, or they might have resigned from their jobs, or some of them just wanted to help others in need, and did their work, so others could benefit, and in the process, they got richer and richer.
The term 'rich' or wealthy may be different for each one of u, and in your opinion you may be wealthy. But, if I ask you, " If you don't work for an year, will your status be the same?" Your answer will determine whether you are truly wealthy or not. One short come of being an employee is that your status is dependent on yourself. You work, money will come, but as soon as you stop working, money inflow will stop.
So, if you change your opinion of 'getting' to 'giving', your perception to life, and everything may change. You may build up your team to do some work, allocate duties to each person, and giving them some salary for their work. Typical example is business. When you 'give' each person his set of duties, 'give' them salary, you 'get' their time, and get work done in lesser time than you may have done yourself. And even if you get ill, or are unable to work somehow, the work will not stop and you will get the benefit.
The perfect example is a company like HCL. Plenty of employees are working 10 to 6, and lots of work done in a single day. Even if one of the leader is unable to do his work, others are doing it, and the work will not stop. How much do you think the owner of HCL is getting, if he is able to give you 1 lac per month, and not only you, 1000's of other employees too?
The message is simple, try changing your perception. Try to give rather than just get. Build a network, a team. Try to build a system rather than just be to yourself. Be different. You will definitely achieve more by helping others.

Be different

I am seeing and observing many people since my childhood. Most of , I mean more than 90% of the people, prefer to take the path all the others choose to take, and being diplomatic in their approach towards things. Why they do that? Coz they fear being left out isolated from the society and their close ones, so they may be successful in their respective fields, leading a satisfactory life, not hungry for more, but they are not different, and people remember them for a short time, and then they are forgotten. 10% of the remaining people stand by themselves, with least support from others, and with a different thinking from conventional thinking, and , all of them have potential, yet only 10% of them, are successful in their approach of different thinking.
These persons are not many, but are responsible for most of our daily used inventions, which were unthinkable many years ago, like shaving blade, car, mobile, computer, etc. They had a tremendous capability of taking risks, following the unconventional path, learning from their mistakes, and having a great vision. We all have such capabilities hidden in us, but they get buried inside most of us, coz of mostly the social pressure and the monotonous thinking imbibed in us by our relatives and friends, and secondly, the fear. Many of us don't follow a certain path, not because we have failed in it, but because we have failed in it in our minds, before even attempting the task. Going to school, then university, passing and getting a job, is recommended by almost all of us, to our parents. Very few of parents advice their children to follow their own path, or make their own path. If you have some talent, for God's sake, don't waste it, it's called 'God gifted' talent, like someone may be a great singer, even though he may have not taken any training in it. But all of us seem to neglect our talent, and follow the conventional path our relatives advice us to. Please dear parents, don't force your child to work on your dreams, rather encourage them to work on their own dreams. And dear friends, if you have any talent, do focus on that, try to achieve your dream, rather than just focusing on what the conventional path is. Be different!
