Great Expectations

Family problems..... why they arise? Why do we expect a lot from everyone? A student works hard for an exam, and his parents expect that he must score >90%... They go to take his report card and then become shocked to see only 70%..when they go home, they scold their son that he wasn't able to score very well... Why don't they understand that every person has his own capabilities? If they had expected less, they would definitely be happy to see the child score well above their expectations...
Similarly, in family relations, if we don't expect our son, daughter or any other relative to take immense care of us, and we take good care of ourself, why should then we have to complain? And then if our relative takes a lil care of us, how would we feel? Elevated? Yes....
There is a saying in geeta that u should keep on doing the work and don't worry about the result. This is not only applicable to doing hard work, but also in every other sphere of life.. If u analyze this quote from a different prospective, u will understand it. It means that we should keep on doing good deeds, and never expect the same from others... Many of us fail to imbibe this feeling with in us.. They expect a lot from others, and even a slightest word is misspelled or any small mistake is committed by a person, then they take it to their heart... If a person becomes broad minded, and don't ponder over such stupid, silly things, and let go, don't we have less cases of depression, brain hemorrhage and heart attack? I think so.. But when will people become such broad-minded?Even if u are thinking hard about the other person not taking care of u, the damage will only come to u, the heart attack or nervous tension etc; or if any mild, then at least a headache will trouble u.. and the person of whom you are thinking about, is enjoying in his own world, enjoying Tv serials.. His mind is relaxed, coz his mind, heart and rest of body is strong, and it's not the case with u...
People mostly suffer heart attack or such kinds of psychological problems thinking about others.. They don't take much care of their own health, but when the other person is responsible directly or indirectly for it, then they keep on earning depression...
I am no exception to this rule...I also sometimes feel much about this useless stuff, but I finally manage to 'let go' and try taking my mind to some other side, and it always helps me a lot....
There is some problem going on in my family coz of these bloody expectations only, and a lot of communication gap;when every person is engaged in formalities and other useless and political stuff, rather than solving these problems... Sometimes I feel helpless, what to do... Just then I turn to God and pray to him to clear this big misunderstanding, which has begun as a consequence of about 10-20 small blunders which were not resolved at that time....
I want to summarize this discussion by saying a small sentense:
' Don't expect, but accept'
Luv,
Rishh.

Worth a read...

Hello friends,
Just read this real story once...It's inspiring......

Prof : So you believe in God?

Student : Absolutely, sir.

Prof : Is God good?

Student : Sure .

Prof : Is God all-powerful?

Student : Yes.

Prof : My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him.

Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't.

How is this God good then? Hmm?

( Student is silent.)

Prof : You can't answer, can you?

Let's start again, young fellow. Is God good?

Student : Yes.

Prof : Is Satan good?

Student : No.

Prof : Where does Satan come from?

Student : From...God...

Prof : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?

Student: Yes.

Prof : Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct?

Student: Yes.

Prof : So who created evil?

( Student does not answer.)

Prof : Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness?

All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?

Student : Yes, sir.

Prof : So, who created them?

( Student has no answer.)

Prof : Science says you have 5 senses you use

to identify and observe the world around you.

Tell me, son...Have you ever seen God?

Student : No, sir.

Prof : Tell us if you have ever heard your God?

Student : No, sir.

Prof : Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God?

Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Prof : Yet you still believe in Him?

Student : Yes.

Prof : According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol,

science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.

Prof : Yes , Faith ! And that is the problem science has.

===============================================

Later the student is asking the professor some questions

just as the professor had been asking him:

Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?

Prof : Yes.

Student : And is there such a thing as cold?

Prof : Yes.

Student : No sir. There isn't.

(The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat,

white heat, a little heat or no heat..

But we don't have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat,

but we can't go any further after that.

There is no such thing as cold.

Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat.

We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy.

Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture hall.)

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?

Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something.

You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light....

But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness,

isn't it? In reality, darkness is n't.

If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?

Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.

Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality.

You argue there is life and then there is death,

a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite,

something we can measure.

Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism,

but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.

To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact

that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.

Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.

Now tell me, Professor. Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?

Prof : If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do .

Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shakes his head with a smile,

beginning to realize where the argument is going.)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work

and cannot even prove

that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir?

Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class is in uproar.)

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?

(The class breaks out into laughter.)

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain,

felt it, touched or smelt it?

No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable,

demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir ,

how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Prof : I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.

Student : That is it sir... The link between man & god is FAITH.

That is all that keeps things moving & alive.

WANT TO KNOW WHO THAT STUDENT WAS?

NB: I believe you have enjoyed the conversation...and if so...

you'll probably want your friends/colleagues

to enjoy the same...won't you? So do forward them to increase their knowledge...

this is a true story, and the student was none other than: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

Bbye n tc....

A musical blog, a small tribute from me to Mohd Rafi

So friends, now is the time for some joyous stuff!! As far as my interests are concerned, I love listening to old, soft songs, and singing in tune along with them. Singing is my passion and nobody can easily stop me from singing, when I am in a mood for that. I like mostly soft music, and not that of Hip-hop type, meaningless songs(That mean only for dancing). But if a person is sitting lonely in an isolated corner, a soft touching sentimental song from any of the famous trio of Rafi,Kishore and Mukesh can really add more oil to his fire. When a person is in a romantic mood, a song like 'Pukarta chala hoon main' or 'meri mohabbat jawaan rahegi' can soothe his heart.
I have, in the previous para, talked about the trio of Rafi,Kishore and Mukesh. The oldest being Mukesh, this trio really touched the heart of millions of people, before the era ended in 1987 with Kishore's death. If you ask me which of those singers do I like the most, what would be an immediate reply? kishore? mukesh? No..as they both are not as valuable for me as the legendary, Mohammad Rafi.
The new generation of today is growing up listening to the songs of new singers like Sonu Nigam, and they appreciate his voice quality very much. Many of them don't like old songs, and if they do, then they wanna hear songs only after the 1970s, clearly surpassing the unmatchable Rafi era. These people haven't heard much of Rafi, thus they can't feel the greatness and golden voice of the legend, and his good personality, which reflected in his singing as well as in his own life. They proudly say that kishore is the best, perhaps because kishore's songs are easy to listen and easy to sing and of a little more dancing tone that Rafi's.. I appreciate their feelings very much, and agree that Kishore is one of the greatest singers the film industry has ever faced, but if asked for the preference, as to who is the best, a clearcut answer is one and only Rafi.
Rafi's voice was as clear as another legendary Lata Ji, and in several duets that he has sung with her, he has many times surpassed her in terms of voice quality and talent.. Some of the people will ask," How can you say that Rafi is of better quality than Lata?" I am not saying that one of them is better and other is not so good, but am considering both of them as top level singers, and if u listen those duets, may be u would also feel the same..
If you have heard any of the duets of Rafi and Kishore, you can feel that Kishore's voice was a little flat, with less sense of expression than Rafi; as in the famous song, Yaadon ki baraat. Rafi's voice is a perfect example of peerlessness, softness, talented, god gifted and quality. The people who like Sonu Nigam, I want to give a message to them, that singers like Sonu, Mohd Aziz and Shabbir Kumar are all hugely inspired by Rafi, but they still could not achieve the greatness of the legend. They are able to contain just a few aspects of Rafi's voice. If you have listened to the songs of the famous movie, Baiju Bawara, you can easily realize this. Every song of this movie was great, had pure classical touch, and not only that, a pain that touches your heart, if you have a sensitive heart like me. The song, Man tarpat hari darshan ko was really amazing.
The songs of Kishore and Mukesh are also phenomenal; I am not criticizing these high level singers by saying that Rafi is God and these singers are just human. No, and please, the fans of these singers, don't get diverted by my discussion; every man has a viewpoint, and u can have your own, but when I listen to their songs, only few are able to touch my heart; or you can say that their songs are only reachable to ears, and less are able to reach my heart.. It's not a question of only painful, sentimental songs, but almost every kinda song sung by Rafi, whether emotional, romantic, fast or slow, or classical, relieves my heart faster than the songs of Kishore and Mukesh. Kishore was good in singing joyful songs, and some emotional songs like 'Choo kar mere man ko' and 'O Sathi Re' were some of the best songs by him. But when it comes to Rafi, his songs seem to be coming from heart and reach our heart. Many of you must be thinking me as a quaint, boring person, a person more older than age, blah blah.. Yes, I am, in some ways. I enjoy almost every type of music, because music is a health tonic that can relieve our sorrow, refreshes the body and mind, and even can work as a real medicine. If you are having a headache, listen to the songs of any of the old singers or the soft songs of Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and they can work as a pill to you. I enjoy these singers also, but the real refreshment comes from the old songs only, especially of Rafi.
The people, if any, who have read this blog, can send me their feedbacks, and don't take the blog as personal, just take it as a viewpoint and send your viewpoints to me. Also, if you want any song of Rafi, do tell me, in reply to this post only. I will search for it, for you..
Thanks for the patience............

CDAC snaps

Life at CDAC

So, after a little boring journey of jss , it's time for some interesting talk. I gave an entrance test of CDAC Noida , just a little time after the completion of B-tech. I was lucky to get there. With in a few days of studying there, i understood that it has got some value. I think that for any unplaced person, after graduation cdac is the best option. Under the guidance of Mr Nitin Bourai and some more good teachers of CDAC, and thanx also to my smart work, I soon gained quite an expertise in some of the subjects, in which I was not much comfortable at the time of graduation. I performed well in the tests, whether written or viva, at cdac. I got some of good friends like Vishist, Sudhanshu, Surinder, Vaishali and Sandhya there. CDAC gave me everything, like a network of good friends, some really good moments to enjoy, and also a job at Medcaps SRL, which is an Italy based firm, and I am feeling good on joining it. Big companies have big names, but small companies have a good amount of work to do.. It is a good step to go to a small company, provided u r not getting any other good opportunity, as it has a lot for u to learn. I think that salary also matters a lot, but if whole day u r sitting idly,(or, as they say, On Bench) it's not worth doing..
Some more friends were there in CDAC, which were fun to be with, like Arpit, who was in JSS too, Pankaj, Shilpa, who is working with me in my company, and some more. A few of them were just dream friends, as u know, a few faces may touch us to our heart, with whom we want to talk fun, or just talk more, and more..They start coming in our sweet dreams, but 'sapno ka kya hai, aankh khulte hi saath chhod dete hain'.. I have 3 crushes in my cart, one of 'em as I told before, a little more than crush, little less than love , was Shanul, who's in a good software firm. The other was in my first year, who's currently placed in TCS. The final one was in CDAC, who was cute looking, a lil modern girl(oops, her birthday was yesterday..)I started liking her a lot, and I think she also sensed it..She is also in a good company, Satyam.
Well, in my life I too have experienced a lot of hurdles, as every person may have; I have lost a lot of opportunities like Satyam, THBS, Infy, TCS, HCL, MBT, Honeywell, Infogain and a lots more.. but still I am satisfied with my current status..Life has still a long way to go, may everyone of my sweet, loving friends achieve what they need...
God Bless u all!!

My B-Tech life

So, it's the first page of my blog, or u can say...it's my intro page.. I hail from a well educated family of high moral values, and was quite emotional from birth..I have deep affection for my family, and it continued during my first few days of the graduation period,a period that comes only once in a person's life...the golden era..It was my luck that I came into the most famous institute of Noida, JSS Academy of Technical Education. But my days of struggle had just begun.
As I stepped into JSSATE via the second counseling, so staying in hostel was not so easy.. and I did not get the chance of staying in hostel. So I wandered here and there for hours, and I myself don't know how much kms had I walked..Finally I got to settle in an uncle's house in Vijaynagar ,who is a good friend of my grandfather. He and his family treated me like their own family member;and for sometimes I wandered some more for a permanent lodging, and finally I got a stay in Vasundhara enclave , Delhi, in my uncle's place.
The first year was passed understanding the course of B-Tech,and I got some good friends in B-Tech; our group consisted of 6 persons, and we had fun together, and our first year passed, and we came to a slightly higher level..
The B.Tech life was not so interesting, but in fact, some of it was misled..No doubt I got good friends in that course, but had also lost some of 'em.. I had a few crushes in my degree course, one was in first yr and the next in 3rd yr..The worst year in B-Tech was the 3rd yr when I got crushed by my crush, a childish girl, although it was my mistake to take the friendship between us as something else, and in this state of mind, I committed some more mistakes , which was not tolerable from the other side, and our beautiful relationship came to a sad end..I tried hard to continue our friendship but I failed..It was hard to believe, but truth is always bitter..Due to that, my percentage was down in that semester..and hers was up...Now she is settled in a good software company, in Pune..still a lil hope is left in my heart, to win her trust and friendship...
Leaving this boring things behind, now talking about some interesting things and some interesting people...There were many of them in B.Tech; and their nicknames were as amusing as them...Like machhu, anda, prachand, scientist, bhokal, ganja, etc etc...
I also came in touch with some of the gems..like Shalin,Praveen,Archit, who were supportive in many ways for me..There were some persons who always remained in a joyous mood, like Rahul,Yashkant..and many more...
Bunking was the most interesting thing in B.Tech;be it any occasion,it must be there..and everyone of us enjoyed it..
There were some cultural events that took place in the college, like Hostel night, Srajan,Freshers' party, and finally, the farewell. All events were well planned and enjoyable.
The final year went quite cool for me..I learned a lot from my final year:to remain cool and calm, and to enjoy life..The group in which I stayed then was the most famous and bhokali group in the college, and I enjoyed its company very much..
I suggest every person must experience a bachelor's life and stay in hostel for max enjoyment..If u have read upto this line, then I thank u for ur patience that u have tolerated this boring blog.. :) ..Thank u for ur support.. Ur feedback is invited......
